A municipality cannot run on vague planning; it requires concrete, measurable strategies. From the rapidly growing neighbourhoods of Mount Brydges to the core of Strathroy, my campaign is built on a commitment to a municipality that actively plans for tomorrow and respects its residents today.

Too often, local government is bogged down by short-term thinking and reactive crisis management. We need a fundamental shift toward transparent, long-term stewardship. Here is the blueprint we are bringing to Ward 2:

1. Progressive Infrastructure Stewardship & Asset Management

• Dedicated Reserve Funds: We must stop treating infrastructure repair as an emergency. I will establish dedicated capital asset reserve funds insulated from short-term political maneuvering to maintain our public facilities and water networks.
• 30-to-50-Year Lifecycle Mandate: True fiscal responsibility means looking past the next election cycle. Every new public project must account for its long-term maintenance schedule before we write the first check.
• Complete Streets: Whenever a street is torn up for repairs, it must be rebuilt with safe sidewalks and active transit options designed right into the blueprint.

2. Open Government and Uncompromising Transparency

• The Open-Data Asset Tracking Portal: You shouldn't need a Freedom of Information request to know when your street is being fixed. I will push for a live, open-data dashboard so every resident can track the repair status and condition of our infrastructure.
• Transparent Municipal Transitions: Shifts in public services must not happen behind closed doors. Taxpayers have an absolute right to see the data and contracts driving decisions.
• Public Delegation Tracker: When you bring a problem to city hall, your voice shouldn't disappear into a bureaucratic black hole. A public delegation tracker ensures you can see exactly how your councillors vote on your concerns.

3. Local Economic Growth & Accountable Procurement

• Local Skills Matching: Local businesses cannot expand without reliable talent. We must build a structural pipeline connecting local employers with local youth and job seekers.
• Strict Anti-Overrun Laws: We need to end the culture where contractors win an RFP with an artificially low price, only to hit taxpayers with massive overruns later. If a contractor fails to deliver on budget, they face financial penalties.
• Open-Data Procurement Portal: An open-data procurement portal allows the community to audit corporate bids, ensuring outcomes are based on merit and transparency, not favouritism.

4. Targeted Priorities for Mount Brydges

• Safe Routes to Schools and Parks: Our kids shouldn’t have to navigate dangerous highway gaps just to get to school. I will push for targeted infrastructure to bridge sidewalk gaps and prioritize pedestrian safety.
• Green Space Mandates: Smart growth doesn't mean clear-cutting our neighbourhoods. Developers must invest in preserving our natural landscape and mature tree canopies.
• Civic Hub Preservation: I will protect and invest in the Caradoc Community Centre, ensuring local families have direct access to vibrant recreational programs right here at home.

5. Regional Advocacy & Community Systems

• Smart Community Safety: By integrating social professionals into our safety strategy to handle non-violent calls, we address root causes and allow police to focus on serious crime.
• Aggressive County Advocacy: We send a significant portion of our property taxes to the County for social services. I will fight to ensure our representatives advocate aggressively to bring those dollars back home to fund local initiatives.

Ward 2 deserves proactive leadership, transparent books, and practical planning. Let’s build a stronger future together.
